Free VITA tax preparation available at Eastern Eight

Milligan College students led by Milligan Professor Dr.Harold Branstrator will be at Eastern Eight CDC after hours this tax season to provide free tax return preparation low-to-moderate income families.
Every Monday until April 16, volunteers will be at the Eastern Eight office, 214 E. Watauga Ave. in Johnson City, from 5 to 9 p.m. preparing tax returns for individuals with $60,000 of houshold income or less. Clients will be served by appointment, but walk-ins are welcome as well. Preparers are using e-file software, so income tax returns should have a turnaround of no more than two weeks.
