JOHNSON CITY, TENN. - Last Monday Eastern Eight celebrated the retirement of Steve Johnson, former construction manager and supervisor of production.

Johnson served Eastern Eight for more than three years, leading the construction department in a period that saw a 300 percent increase in production. He supervised the construction of more than 75 homes and multiple apartment complexes during his tenure. Johnson worked closely with Eastern Eight Executive Director Retha Patton.

"I hate to see Steve go, but I understand that now is the right time for him," Patton said. "We're going to miss him greatly - he's large part of why we've been so successful in the last few years."

Johnson is looking forward to retirement, but he valued his time at Eastern Eight. "I learned more from my three years at Eastern Eight than I did in my entire career," he said.
