Public Meeting in Carter County

ELIZABETHTON, TENN. - Eastern Eight Community Development Corporation (E8CDC) has received a HOME grant from the Tennessee Housing Development Agency (THDA) for construction financing to build a minimum of five new affordable single family homes for qualified low-to-moderate income homebuyers within the boundaries of Carter County.

At the time of permanent financing of the home, E8CDC will leave between $1,000-$14,999 of HOME funds with the unit as a soft second mortgage, as necessary to qualify the household for affordable housing financing.

All of the following criteria must be met to qualify:  1. Meet low-to-moderate income guidelines.  2.  Must occupy the home as their principal residence.  3.  Home must be within Carter County.  4.  Homebuyer must contribute 1% of the purchase price of home.

If you meet these criteria and are interested in obtaining more information about this grant, please come to a public information session on Thursday, October 14th at 7:00 p.m. at the Memorial Presbyterian Church, 100 East F Street, Elizabethton, TN.

This program has a limited amount of funds so therefore applicants will be served on a first come/first qualified basis until funds are depleted.   Applications for assistance and other information will be provided at this meeting.  Any persons wishing to attend who has special needs of accessibility please contact Eastern Eight CDC at (423)232-5097.
